Full Pay Later: Split Terms and Conditions
- What These Terms Cover
- These Pay Later: Split Terms and Conditions ("Terms") explain how Stitch Money Proprietary Limited ("Stitch" or "we") enables you ("you", or "your") to pay for goods or services purchased from approved merchants ("Merchants") over time, using Pay Later: Split.
- Pay Later: Split is part of the Stitch Pay Later product offering. Stitch Pay Later enables you to pay for purchases over time. These Terms apply specifically to Pay Later: Split. Other variations of Stitch Pay Later (such as Pay Later: Expand) are governed by separate terms and conditions.
- Depending on the arrangement between Stitch and the Merchant, your purchase may be:
- Stitch Funded: Stitch pays the Merchant upfront on your behalf, and you repay Stitch; or
- Merchant Funded: the Merchant allows you to pay over time, and Stitch facilitates the collection of your instalments for the Merchant,
- Depending on the model, either Stitch or the Merchant may be the "Pay Later: Split Provider". Meaning, if your purchase is Stitch Funded, Stitch will be the Pay Later: Split Provider. Similarly, if your purchase is Merchant Funded, the Merchant will be the Pay Later: Split Provider.
- Your purchase contract for the goods or services remains with the Merchant. Your payment and repayment obligations are to the Pay Later: Split Provider.

- How Pay Later: Split Works
- When you choose to pay using Pay Later: Split at checkout, Stitch will assess your application for affordability and creditworthiness.
- If Stitch approves your application:
- you will receive a repayment plan through the Stitch app or portal, or by email showing the instalment amounts and due dates (a "Repayment Plan"); and
- you will owe Stitch or the Merchant, depending on whether your purchase was Stitch Funded or Merchant Funded.
- Stitch may approve or decline each of your applications at its discretion, even if you’ve used Pay Later: Split before.
- You authorise Stitch to collect the instalments from your linked card or bank account on the due dates and in line with your Repayment Plan.
- Stitch will either:
- collect and retain your instalments (if Stitch Funded), or
- collect and transfer your instalments to the Merchant (if Merchant Funded).
- You may terminate your use of Pay Later: Split at any time by paying any outstanding instalments.
- Your Repayments
- You must ensure enough funds are available for Stitch to collect each instalment on its due date.
- If collection fails, Stitch may reattempt collection or contact you to arrange settlement.
- If you miss an instalment it remains due and owing to the Pay Later: Split Provider, and the Pay Later: Split Provider (acting through Stitch, where applicable) may, as a result of your default, also:
- charge a reasonable, late fee to cover the administrative and collection costs arising from the missed payment;
- suspend or restrict your ability to use Pay Later: Split until all overdue amounts are paid; and/or
- require immediate payment of any outstanding instalments.
- Any late fee is applied only as a consequence of a missed payment and is not charged for the ordinary use of Pay Later: Split.
- Pay Later: Split is free of charge when instalments are paid on time, and no interest, service fees or account fees apply in those circumstances.
- To the extent that any applicable consumer credit legislation becomes relevant as a result of a missed payment, the Pay Later: Split Provider will comply with such legislation.
- You must continue to pay all instalments even if goods or services are returned, defective or disputed, unless the Merchant approves a refund and confirms this with Stitch.
- Returns and Refunds
- Returns and refunds must follow the Merchant’s return and refund policy.
- Once the Merchant confirms an approved refund with Stitch, Stitch will:
- pay the refund to you via your original payment method; and
- adjust your Repayment Plan to reflect the refund.
- If the Merchant refunds you directly (for example, in cash or store credit), you remain responsible for repaying the Pay Later: Split Provider until the Merchant confirms the refund with Stitch, or Stitch confirms otherwise.
