Introducing Stitch Pulse, an AI-powered software suite for enterprise

Today we’re launching Stitch Pulse, a suite of AI-powered software for enterprise businesses. Each Pulse product is designed to address pain points related to a specific job close to a business’s money.

The first product, Pulse Analytics, is available from today to every Stitch payments client.

Why a payments company is building software

Stitch processes payments for the largest enterprises in South Africa today, as well as thousands of growing businesses through Express. The team has worked extremely closely with clients to understand every part of their organisation deeply, across not only payments, but risk, onboarding, communication, finance, support and more.

As Stitch grew, we saw the need to build our own tools to support functions like reporting, fraud, onboarding and more. Pulse makes those tools available to other enterprise businesses through an AI-native suite, starting with Pulse Analytics, fraud prevention and KYC/B onboarding, with more tools in the pipeline.

What’s in the suite

Pulse includes a number of software solutions designed to address challenges faced by teams across a business. Each includes access to the Pulse AI agent, to help teams make sense of their data.

  • Pulse Analytics (live today): an AI-powered dashboard and agent that briefs your teams on what moved, answers questions about your payments in plain language, watches the metrics that matter and lets your teams act on what it finds.
  • Pulse Fraud Command Centre: Detect and prevent fraud, find anomalies among millions of data points
  • Pulse Onboarding: Verify and onboard businesses and customers faster, with optimised KYC/B tools
  • A billing tool and customer communications hub are next

Introducing Pulse Analytics

Payments sit at the centre of the way a large business runs. Every transaction carries information about your customers, your checkout, the banks your customers use, your stores and your cash flow. We process that data for some of the most complex businesses in South Africa, at transaction level, across every payment method we support.

Most of that information never reaches the people making decisions. It sits in a warehouse, in a dashboard someone built last quarter or behind a request to the data team that takes days to come back. Only 25–35% of employees use their company’s analytics tools, a figure that has barely moved since the late 1990s (BARC/Eckerson, 2022). In a 2025 survey of 500 enterprises, 76% of professionals said they had made business decisions without consulting available data because getting to it was too hard (Sisense, 2025).

We built Pulse Analytics to change that. Since we already handle the payments data, we can give it back to our clients via an accessible AI agent that works from the first day, with no warehouse project, no data model to build and no implementation team to hire.

Pulse Analytics is an AI-powered dashboard and custom agent that works across your payments data around the clock. It learns what matters to you and your business, tells you what changed and why, keeps watch while you get on with your day, and lets you act on what it finds from the same screen. Each team member can build their own dashboard and share it with their wider team.

It works while you don’t

Each morning, Pulse Analytics sends every user a brief on what moved in their part of the business overnight. Changes are ranked by their impact in rands, with the likely cause beside each one. A CFO sees settlement and cash position. A head of payments sees approval rates by bank and payment method. A store operations lead sees which sites and terminals need attention.

During the day, it watches the metrics each person cares about and tells them when one moves. You set up a watch in one sentence, such as “Tell me if Pay by bank conversion drops below 80% for more than an hour” and get an instant alert. Export any data in a shareable dashboard to keep the full team informed.

Ask Pulse anything about your payments

When something needs explaining, ask in plain language and get an answer in seconds:

  • “Which issuing bank had the biggest drop in approvals on card payments yesterday, and why?”
  • “How did Capitec Pay conversion compare with Pay by bank during the weekend sale?”
  • “Which stores were above our chargeback threshold in September?”

Every answer shows the definition it used and the data behind it. Any answer can become a live dashboard or a board report in one prompt. Pulse Analytics also learns how your business talks, so if your teams call a till a “lane”, you tell it once and it uses your language from then on.

Act on what you find

Within their permissions, your teams can process refunds, payouts and other actions from the same screen where they spotted the issue. A support lead who finds a customer was charged twice can refund them in the same conversation. The action is logged in the audit trail.

Your data lines

Pulse Analytics is built on four data lines: Payments, Customer, Product and Channel. The Payments and Customer data lines are live from day one. These cover the payments Stitch processes for you across online and in-person payments, including approvals, declines and their reasons, bank and card behaviour, settlement, refunds and chargebacks. The other two switch on as you connect more of your business data.

You stay in control

Pulse runs on some of the most sensitive data a business holds, so we built it to the same standard we apply to processing payments.

  • It shows its working. Every answer includes its definition and the query behind it. If a question falls outside what Pulse can answer reliably, it says so and explains why rather than guessing.
  • Each person sees only what their role allows. A store manager sees their stores, a regional lead sees their region, and finance sees what finance needs.
  • Money never moves without permission. Only people your business authorises can take actions, and every action is recorded.
  • Your data stays protected. Pulse runs inside Stitch’s ISO 27001 and PCI DSS Level 1 certified environment, over data we already process and hold for you, so you don’t need to export anything.

Get started

Pulse Analytics is available from today to all Stitch payments clients. Your Payments and Customer data lines are live as soon as it’s switched on.

Existing clients can ask their account manager to switch it on, or book a walkthrough by reaching out to dewald@stitch.money. If you don’t process payments with Stitch yet, book a demo to see Pulse on data that looks like yours.

Pulse Analytics is the first product in Stitch Pulse, and we’ll be adding more to the suite. If there’s a problem in your payments operation you’d like Pulse to solve, we’d like to hear about it.
