WigWag launches API, making it easier for SMEs to accept card payments

We’re excited to announce that WigWag has launched an API to enable seamless card payments, powered by the Stitch payments infrastructure.

WigWag’s first offering was a no-code checkout solution that allowed entrepreneurs to accept online payments just by sending a link. We subsequently saw a demand in the market for businesses to integrate an automated payment solution into their online platforms. So we’ve leveraged the Stitch technical infrastructure to offer an easy-to-use REST API.

Businesses can sign up in minutes and get access to credentials in their dashboard. We believe that adding a payment method to the user experience should be simple and quick, so we’ve removed all of the complexity from the integration process.

WigWag’s REST API is tailored for simplicity and efficiency, allowing SMEs and growing businesses to easily integrate card payment capabilities into their websites or platforms. Here are some key features that make the WigWag API stand out:

  • Ease of use: Access all necessary credentials and details directly from your WigWag dashboard
  • User-friendly documentation: Comprehensive API docs provide all the integration information you need so you can get started as quickly as possible
  • Security and trust: Benefit from the robust Stitch technical infrastructure, ensuring full PCI DSS Level 1 certification and 3D Secure authorisation
  • Digital onboarding: Experience a fully automated sign-up and verification process, with immediate access to test credentials
  • Delivery and fee handling: Ideal for businesses selling physical goods, our API supports the collection and storage of delivery details and delivery fee charges
  • Cost-effective: There are no monthly or minimum fees, and transaction fees align with standard WigWag payments – the more you sell, the less you pay
  • Instant payouts: All of your payments arrive in your balance 24 hours after you get paid. You can choose to pay them out normally or instantly to see them reflect in your bank account immediately
  • A comprehensive dashboard: The WigWag dashboard gives you control at your fingertips allowing you to monitor your sales, earnings, WigWag balance, payouts and track payments, customer details, and delivery information

How it works

SMEs and growing businesses can integrate the WigWag API in a few easy steps.

  1. Sign up and verify: Register your business by providing essential personal and business details
  2. Integration: Access credentials on your account page, and use them to integrate the API into your platform. Even before verification, you can access a sandbox environment with test credentials in which verified businesses are automatically given production credentials. From there, simply set up your redirect URLs and webhooks to start integrating
  3. Go live: Send your users to the WigWag payment flow for secure payments
  4. Track and ship: Utilise webhooks to monitor payment status updates and ship goods according to the collected delivery details
  5. Request and receive payments: Initiate the payout process whenever you're ready. Choose if you want to get paid out immediately or the day after

Who can benefit from the WigWag API?

  • E-commerce businesses: If you’re selling goods online, WigWag can help you receive card payments from anyone in the world. The API also allows you to collect additional details and fees such as delivery addresses and shipping costs
  • Online service platforms: Built a great platform and need a payment method? You can easily integrate the WigWag API via a redirect, making it a seamless addition to the overall purchasing experience
  • Mobile apps: Need customers to pay for something within your app? WigWag can collect card details and process the payment securely via a web view
